We're pleased to offer the following services at Bridgetown Animal Hospital
Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open, as well as after regular hours. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately during regular office hours. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.
We have a veterinarian on call after regular business hours 7 days a week who is trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your pet has. Emergencies can be things such a snail bait poisoning, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate to call immediately. During regular business hours, if possible, it is best to call before coming in so that a team member can advise you on your particular emergency.
We are also available for urgent care when the condition is not life-threatening, but you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment. Our veterinarians will work to "squeeze" you in between scheduled appointments. When you arrive, our receptionists will be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait in order to be seen.
Dental care is a large part of our patients' health plan. Our veterinarians perform regular oral exams, and can make recommendations on your pet's dental care. We perform ultrasonic cleaning and polishing, dental extractions and other oral surgery. Also, we are proud to announce that we have recently included digital dental radiography to our practice, which provides advanced dental diagnostic abilities to our clients.
We are equipped with a digital radiography system which provides us with superior quality x-rays that are easily viewed and can be sent promptly when referral is needed. We have also added digital radiography, which is the standard of care for veterinary dentistry, providing us with advanced diagnostic ability when planning dental procedures. In addition to radiography, we also perform abdominal and thoracic ultrasonography.
Our in-house laboratory is equipped to run a wide array of bloodwork, including pre-anesthetic profiles, complete blood cell counts, comprehensive biochemistry profiles and clotting profiles, among others. We also perform complete urinalysis, fecal examinations, and cytology. Many results are available within 10-20 minutes. In addition to our in-house laboratory, we can also send histopathology and specific blood tests to a number of external diagnostic laboratories with whom we work with.
Our veterinarians perform a number of elective and emergent surgical procedures, including routine and complicated ovariohysterectomy and castration, soft tissue surgery and a number of orthopedic procedures. Our surgical suite is fully equipped with advanced monitoring techniques and a highly skilled veterinary technician to help ensure safe anesthesia and assist with surgical procedures.
A number of our patients highly benefit from the use of our therapeutic cold laser. From post-surgical treatment and acute soft tissue injuries, to arthritis management and intervertebral disc disease therapy, our laser helps relieve pain, regenerate injured tissue and speed up healing. Make an appointment with one of our veterinarians to see if therapeutic lasering may be helpful for your pet.
